AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN belongs to a group of combination medication called 'penicillin antibiotics' that works against various types of bacteria. AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN is generally prescribed for the prevention of pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infections, skin and structure infection, urinary tract infection, dental infections, joint and bone infections. Bacterial infection occurs when bacteria enter into the body and multiply and cause a reaction in the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.

AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. The benefits of taking this combination of medicines may overcome any risks related to therapeutic duplication. Amoxicillin acts by destroying the outer protein layer, thereby killing the bacteria (bactericidal). Cloxacillin blocks the third and last stage of synthesis of the outer layer of bacteria (bactericidal). AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN can be effective in the treatment of pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infections, skin and structure infection, urinary tract infection, dental infections, joint and bone infections. 

Directions for Use

It can be taken either in the form of a capsule or injection form. Oral capsule: Take a capsule form of AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN with a glass of water. Do not chew, break or crush it. Injection: The dose of AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self administer.

Side Effects of Amolac Plus 125mg/125mg Tablet DT

The common side effects include skin rashes, vomiting, allergic reaction, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea. However, these side effects are mild and temporary in nature. But if these symptoms persist, let your doctor know about this.

Drug Warnings

After taking AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN if you can have allergy-like symptoms including upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, gas, and mouth sores immediately contact your doctor. AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN should not be given in the patients who are allergic to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, a newborn baby with jaundice, epilepsy (fits) and mononucleosis (viral infection with fever and sore throat). Breastfeeding mothers should consult a doctor before using AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN. AMOXICILLIN+CLOXACILLIN should not be given with allopurinol (uric acid-reducing medicines) and other antibiotics like chloramphenicol, erythromycin, and tetracycline.
